The inspections dates for Hogganfield Loch Care Home and Arran House Care Home have been changed to some time in August. We will provide updates when we get formally notified of the dates. Skye View Care Centre's first inspection will still be carried out on the 24th of May.
The Care Commission are looking for willing volunteers to "..join us and make a difference." as part of their Involving People initiative. The work which the group undertake feeds back into how care services are inspected and run.

The Local Authorities have published their new fee rates for the upcoming financial year 2010 - 2011.
Please look at the fees section for up-to-date information.
We have introduced comment feedback walls within the care homes. We will use these to show how your comments and suggestions are put into action around the home.
Skye View has introduced Doll Therapy with some success. These dolls should be seen as a good way of residents expressing emotions, being involved and giving a sense of purpose.
There are several good articles on the subject at Dementia Care Matters as well as a pilot study in the Oxford Journals.

We have recently purchased new poster boards for all 3 homes to help with signage. These board will be at low level and display items of interest to residents, relatives and friends.
Arran Houses manager Mary Dowdalls is hosting an open forum from 6pm to 8pm every Monday evening. No appointment necessary, just pop into her office if there is anything you want to discuss.
The layout of the website has changed slightly to allow for easier updating. All updates will be displayed on the home page.
